Islamic Religious Education plays a crucial role in shaping the character and morality of individuals within society. In an effort to enhance students' understanding of Islamic concepts and connect them to everyday life contexts, effective teaching methods are essential. One of the introduced approaches is the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) method, emphasizing the importance of linking learning to the real world. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing the CTL method in Islamic Religious Education and identify factors influencing its successful implementation. The research employs a quantitative research method with an experimental approach. Experimental research is aimed at testing the effect of treatment on the dependent variable. The study population comprises all eighth-grade students at Ibnu Sina Middle School in Batam. The research sample consists of two classes, namely, Class VIII A as the control group and Class VIII B as the experimental group, each comprising 30 students. Data is collected through a pre- and post-implementation test of Islamic Religious Education concept comprehension. The data analysis results indicate that the experimental group, following the CTL method, experienced a significant improvement in understanding Islamic Religious Education concepts compared to the control group. Additionally, factors such as teacher experience, administrative support, and educational resources also influenced the success of the CTL method's implementation. This research provides a significant contribution to understanding the effectiveness of the CTL method in the context of Islamic Religious Education and offers insights into the factors that should be considered when applying this approach in religious education
