This research is focused on examine the causal relationship between maternal education levels and the cognitive development of children at ages 5-6 at TKS Cookies Kids, Batam. The research addresses the gap between the ideal—where highly educated mothers optimally support children's cognitive growth—and the field reality, which reveals significant variations in children's cognitive abilities. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, utilizing observation, questionnaires, and interviews for data collection. The results show that mothers with a university degree contribute more significantly to the growth of children's language skills, symbolic reasoning, and problem-solving skills than those with lower education levels. Supporting factors such as the degree of educational stimulation at home, early stimulation, and children’s nutritional status mediate this relationship. The study concludes that maternal education serves as a crucial determinant of a cognitively stimulating home environment. These findings reinforce the need for family-based interventions in early childhood education policies supported by empirical evidence
